Follow Your Post-Surgical Instructions for Better Results

Published on June 29, 2017

Recovering from bunion surgery can feel like a long and uncomfortable process, but once you have fully healed and you experience the positive impact it has on your life, it will all be worth it. However, there are some issues that may occur after your procedure that can place your results at risk.

It is important that you adhere to the post-surgical instructions given to you by foot and ankle surgeon Dr. Neal Blitz. Patients who stick to the instructions will better protect their results. These instructions include not putting any weight on the foot until advised to do so, not getting the foot wet, and emphasize the importance of elevating the foot during the recovery period.

If you experience any significant complications or anything that is troubling, contact your doctor immediately so they can properly diagnose the issue. If you believe you are prepared for your bunion surgery and are capable of sticking to the recovery instructions, contact our office to schedule a consultation.
