When Can I Return to Work?

Published on December 20, 2017

It can be hard to determine exactly how much time you will need to take off from work following your bunion surgery. The severity of your bunion, the type of procedure you undergo, your body’s natural recovery rate, and the type of work you do are all factors that must be accounted for.

If you have a job that does not require you to be on your feet, you may be able to return to work shortly after your bunion procedure. If you need to stand or walk for extended period of time, you may need to take more time off before returning. We recommend that our patients schedule their procedures around the holidays so that they have the additional time they need to fully recover.

Bunion expert Dr. Neal Blitz will discuss the entire process with you prior to your procedure so that you can be fully prepared for your recovery period. If you are ready to undergo surgery to correct your bunion, contact our office today to schedule a consultation.
